I've just added an Akai 4000DS Mk2 and a ReVox PR99 Mk1 to my family of open reel tape recorders. This is a quick test of the Akai playing back a tape I recorded on one of my Sony TC352D decks some time either late '80s or early '90s.
The Akai 4000DS Mk2 has special significance to me. I started my journey writing and recording music in 1984 using of these, a Roland Juno 6 synthesizer and a Studiomaster Studio Four 4 track deck.
